Hetalia Rare Pair. 1st Prompt,FRussia

Their first meeting had nothing out of the ordinary; it was one of those banal things that happened everywhere all the time. Ivan was a new student to this school, freshly arriving in the middle of the school year. Francis happened to be sitting next to the only empty desk, at the back of the class.

That’s how it started. Simple greetings, hushed hurriedly as to not get caught by the teacher. Neither knew what to think of the other, it seemed at first that they were both part of separate worlds.

But as the days passed, they learnt to get to know each other more. Ivan started to notice little things about Francis; the way he played with a strand of hair when he was focused, that way that he smiled when talking to him and how he liked to react dramatically whenever he couldn’t get his way. Francis had come to notice little things about Ivan as well; how adorable was the way he spoke, still struggling with English by moment, how he seemt to sink his head in his shoulders when he was embarrassed, and how beautiful was his smile when he smiled sincerely.

And one day, with all these little things accumulated, Francis finally took the moment to ask Ivan if he could talk to him after class; what was he doing this week-end, and if he’d like to go watch a movie and pass by that new bookstore that opened downtown.

Ivan said yes to that date, just like he would say to the many others that came afterwards.
