The charming Mount Grace Priory, founded 1398, dwells within the parish of East Harsley, North Yorkshire; and is the best preserved and most accessible of the ten medieval Carthusian houses in England. The Carthusians are a group of Catholic monks; and their website states they share the values of silence, work, poverty, chastity, obedience, prayer, and humility. I do not think I would make a very good Carthusian monk, but I appreciate their dedication. Better them than me. (English Heritage on flickr)
