I’ve been wondering why the phrase goes ‘to meet one’s Waterloo’ for quite a while now. Wouldn’t meeting one’s Moscow be as apropriate?Is Russia’s heart bleeding?

This might need a little backstory now;
Basically I went with the idea that the real countries’ capitals are the Hetalians’ hearts (and not their junk, I like to imagine that being random phallic buildings, like the Big Ben or that penis-building in Barcelona. ).
This comic is set during the end of the coalition wars where, I’m not an expert, but that’s vaguely what happened in a nutshell, almost all of the rest of Europe tried to get Napoleonic!France down. And failed spectacularly, for a good couple of years.
(Which is why I have a hard time understanding these France Is A Weakling jokes. Before and after, France kicked ass. A lot.)
The poison dwarf’sNapoleons military (and therefore political) downfall was, again, not an expert, that he thought he could fight a quick war against Russia. And win. (A mistake that was repeated about 1 1/2 centuries later)
Russian officers cut off his supports and then just burned everything in their retreat, making feeding the troops nigh impossible. N. later blamed the harsh Russian winter, which is only partially true. Even if ‘General Winter’ didn’t make matters easier, the statistics clearly show that they were fucked even before reaching Moscow. Which, as you may guessed, was also burned down.
