You know, once upon a time writers feared that someone would take their stories and make crappy interpretations of them - in the modern sense, make them into a bad movie that misses the point of the original tale entirely.
Nowadays it seems that if you’re a writer, if you’ve been dead for a while and you tended to write about ~*~spooky shit~*~ whilst alive, you ought to fear them making a dodgy movie about you, shooting guns and flinging swords and fighting off assassination plots and all the forces of hell that you apparently somehow managed to unleash upon the world.
…Not that I don’t think it would be mildly interesting to see someone interpret my life as having sword duels and unleashing hell, but I don’t think they’d get my accent right.
